Manufactured Polyethylene and Pcorr Layer Pad for the Motorcycle Industry

Interior Packaging Design designed these custom reusable layer pads for use in the motorcycle industry. The layer pads are constructed of a combination of cross-linked polyethylene foam and corrugated plastic. The plastic tray bases were cut on our flatbed die cutter, while the custom designed foam sections were cut on our water jet cutter. Our ability to make angled cuts using our water jet cutting machine expands the possibilities for layer pad designs and in this instance, allowed us to increase the part density in the storage container.

The pad is 22.1250" x 14.3125" x 8.5800" and designed to fit inside a stock storage container. Finished tray pads underwent dimensional and visual inspection according to our SPC checks and quality manual. We produced 100 of these containers with a turnaround time of only three weeks. All of our projects are custom designed and fabricated for specific customer applications with very fast response times. Samples are typically available only a few days after the design is discussed and full scale production runs generally take four weeks or less.
